Disneyland is on!

Well since it's been a long time since I've made a post, you all missed my lament over the cancellation of the family Disneyland Trip. I actually cried over it. I LOVE Disneyland. (really, who doesn't?) Reese and I had our trip marked on a little calendar on the frig and we were both anxiously looking forward to princesses, rides, pineapple boats, the best pickle you'll ever eat, and all the other magic that comes with a day in the Happiest Place on Earth. Then the trip was cancelled and I was given the job of breaking my 3 year old's heart.

I broke the news. It wasn't so bad.

The next day was preschool, and I realized the news hadn't sunk in as she danced around in the Snow White dress (that she wore to school) and told her little friends all about how she's going to go see grandma and grandpa and wear her dress to Disneyland in July.

After preschool I would tell her again.

Before i had a chance, she brought me the phone and asked me to call Grandpa Hal. I dialed his cell, handed her the phone and the conversation is as follows:

R: Hi grandpa, como estas?
G: Well, hello reese, bien! how are you?
R: (in the sappiest, sweetest, stickiest little voice i have EVER heard) Graaaandpa?
Will you take me to Disneyland?

I was shocked! She had fully understood what I had explained to her! She wasn't in denial, she was WORKING the system!

G: Disneyland? Hmmm...i'm pretty sure I can arrange that. Is your mommy there?
R: (smiles) By grandpa. I love you! (and hands me the phone)

I have never seen a child manipulate adults the way that just went down.
and i've never been more proud of my daughter.

It's not like I needed permission to go or anything, but I am pretty thrifty. This was definitely enough to convince me to blow $650 on 3 plane tickets so my kids can see Cinderella.

I got online, booked plane tickets and we are going anyway. Reese is still counting down the days, and preparing Quincy by teaching her all the nonsense Disney trivia a little girl might need to know to enjoy a day at the Magic Kingdom.

Sometimes I think I might get sick of hearing her ask if it's time to go to Disneyland yet. (as she does first thing when she wakes up each morning), but then I realize that I, too, am counting down the days and am just as excited as she is! I can't wait!

We can't wait to see you Grandma and Grandpa! Your presence will make Disneyland even better!

I suppose I'll end with a poll...
What's your opinion on the baby leash? I'm thinking one might be great for Q. She's not one to wander off really...but Disneyland is a crowded place, and she's just so small. I worry she'll be stepped on if I let her get to far away. Any thoughts?
